AgriFutures Australia General Manager, Research and Innovation Mr Michael Beer said, “We are looking forward to celebrating National Ag Day. We’ve taken this year’s theme of ‘Grow for Good’  and are highlighting the importance of research and innovation in the important quest to feed more people, caring for our environment and producing safe, affordable and nutritious foods.

“At AgriFutures, our core business is working with our rural industries such as rice, chicken meat, ginger to create research outcomes that allow the industries to prosper.”

Acting Director of the Graham Centre, Associate Professor Marta Hernandez-Jover said, “Research and development plays a key role in helping our primary industries to continue to grow and support thriving regional communities.

“This is at the heart of what we do at the Graham Centre. We’re looking forward to celebrating on National Agriculture Day and hope that farmers, researchers, students and the wider community can join us at the event.”

RDA Riverina Chief Executive Officer, Ms Rachel Whiting said, “Agriculture is the main driver of the Riverina. Celebrating this fact is a fantastic opportunity to say thank you to all people in our region who contribute to this sector.”

The organisers also hope to ‘do some good’ by collecting gold coin donations for the NSW Country Women’s Association drought relief effort.
