Dougal Gordon’s role is Group Director, Livestock Systems at NSW DPI Agriculture. The role manages 150 staff who undertake applied research & development along with policy in the cattle, sheep, intensive livestock, pasture, soils and climate areas.
He has previously held management and senior management roles at the Meat Research Corporation, Columbus Line, Hassall & Associates, NSW Farmers’ Association and most recently as CEO at the Australian Lot Feeders’ Association. He has a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from the University of Sydney, a Masters of Commerce from Macquarie University and is a Graduate of the Directors and Company Secretary programs within the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is currently chair or co-chair of the National Livestock Genetics Consortia, Intensive Agriculture Consultative Committee, Apiary Sites Working Group and Breedplan whilst also being a board member of the Graham Centre (the joint venture between CSU and NSW DPI).
