Description

New Access  is a beyondblue early intervention program designed to support people with mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression in Australia.

ILWS researchers have been engaged to evaluate the program, specifically from the perspective of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their carers, supporters and service partners.

The evaluation will assess the present offering of the program, in relation to the requested feasibility, acceptability, effectiveness, efficiency and safety, and proposes to consider its potential for the program to be scaled up nationally.

The evaluation will used a mixed-method approach comprising of:

  • A  policy and service model analysis
  • A minimum data set and standardized case mix and outcome measures
  • Consultation workshops
  • Key stakeholder semi-structured interviews
  • Service activity and service impact

Outcomes

The evaluation will lead to an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the program from multiple stakeholder perspectives with a focus on the specific needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including policy and practice frameworks and logistical implications of scaling up nationally.
