Practical science for Viticulture Workshop- Orange NSW 8 June 2021

The National Wine and Grape Industry Centre hosted a day of practical workshops to give grape growers and advisors information about new research and current science that can support management decisions in the vineyard.

2020 Online Research Update

  • The development of a smartphone app to identify and manage nutrient deficiency in grapevines;
  • Techniques for determining the levels of grey mould contamination of grapes;
  • Measurement of different forms of Cu in wine;
  • Benchmarking regional and sub-regional Shiraz fine wines

The NWGIC held a workshop in Wangaratta in 2019. It featured new research to improve vineyard health, limit wine spoilage and understand the differences between Shiraz wines from different regions. Find out more in the program.

VineWatch

NSW DPI has further expanded its reach of fortnightly Vinewatch bulletins to winegrape growers across NSW wine regions.

The Murray Valley and Southern Highlands regions recently joined Canberra, Hunter Valley, Griffith, Mudgee, Orange and Tumbarumba in providing real-time phenological updates on key varieties, along with risk rated pest and disease information.
