PaCT PhD candidate writes on Willie Jennings and Palestinian Theologies of Liberation

PhD candidate Katherine Rainger has published a piece on The New Polis titled 'Willie Jennings And Palestinian Theologies of Liberation - Naming The Missing Piece.'

Katherine discusses the theology of Willie Jennings including his insights into the construction of race, and past and present Jewish-Christian relations.

She states: "However, there is a significant lacuna in Jennings' commendable project to restore a Christian-Jewish 'vision of life together': the omission of the Palestinian people and the failure to incorporate their voices and experiences."

In addressing this lacuna, Katherine proposes reading the often overlooked work of Christian Palestinian theologians, such as Naim Ateek, in conversation with Jennings.

Katherine received support from PaCT to attend the Global Network of Public Theology conference in 2017 where she presented a paper on the Book of Lamentations and contemporary testimonies from Gaza and Israel.
