The Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement (AHEGS) is a Commonwealth initiative which aims to provide a more uniform pattern of information across all Australian universities regarding the learning and achievements of individuals in higher education.
The AHEGS, which provides enhanced documentation to graduates, is designed to improve the transparency and portability of qualifications and facilitate international mobility. In doing so, it assists both domestic and international graduates from Australian higher education providers seeking employment or further study opportunities overseas as well as enhances the information available to Australian employers and professional associations. To ensure national consistency graduation statements shall be presented in a uniform format by all Higher Education Institutions.
The AHEGS provides descriptions of the nature, level, context and status of the studies that were pursed and completed by graduates, as well as information about the education system to which the qualification belongs.
If you receive academic recognition from CSU for your overseas experience - this could be going on exchange, participating in a short term program, undertaking workplace learning in another country or conference attendance - this will be reflected in your AHEGS
Further details about AHEGS - how it works, what it will look like, frequently asked questions etc - can be found at www.csu.edu.au/ahegs .
