- Universities have entered a licence agreement with the Australian music societies, allowing them to reproduce, communicate and perform musical works.
- The Copyright Amendment Act 2006 was passed in the Australian Parliament on 11 December 2006. All amendments came into force on 1 January 2007. For a summary of changes that affect CSU staff and students see 'Amendments to the Copyright Act – Copyright Amendment Act, 2006'.
