Abstract|
In this subject, students will plan and execute a research project with supported autonomy through the completion of a literature review, analysis of potential solutions, experimentation and analysis of results culminating in a dissertation. Communication skills will be developed to present research in multiple formats. Students will be enabled to apply advanced knowledge and skills in research practices and methodologies in order to produce a completed research project. Students will prepare their results ready for publication. |

Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to develop a solution for an identified research problem in the computing discipline that is current and significant;
- be able to critically review, appraise and synthesise academic literature relevant to the chosen research problem;
- be able to reflect on the research process and progress;
- be able to communicate effectively in ways appropriate to the discipline, audience and purpose;
- be able to complete and analyse a research project; and
- be able to write a final dissertation that brings together all the parts of the project and can be understood by experts in the field.
