This subject contains a 20 days Compulsory Workplace Learning component.
Clinical experience is a compulsory and important part of the Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic). Students will need to complete block clinical placements (with varying shifts of 10, 12 and 14 hours) in the ambulance and healthcare environment. Students will have several placement sites to select from with work place sites available in NSW, ACT and Tasmania. Students will need to demonstrate competency in a variety of different clinical skills and tasks in order to successfully complete this placement. Set workplace learning times are given to students to complete the hours of placement.
Students need to ensure that adequate preparation has been completed in order for the delivery of safe and effective patient care. All pre-requisite subjects must be successfully completed prior to undertaking workplace learning.
