This subject will explore theoretical perspectives about teaching and learning and their application to education in clinical settings. Students will critically evaluate educational methods and plan and implement teaching and learning strategies in the clinical setting. A focus of the learning will be to assist the student to understand teaching and learning practices related to the principles of adult learning including student centred learning, the nature of diversity in learners and cultural factors affecting learning. As well, communication skills for effective facilitation of learning and curriculum development will be an integral part of this subject.
