This subject will enable students to consolidate their knowledge of neurological physiotherapy and to extend their skills in the assessment and management of adults with movement disorders that arise from changes in their neurological and related musculoskeletal systems. Students will integrate new knowledge to advance their skills in evidence-based clinical reasoning in order to inform assessment, intervention selection and outcome measurement, relevant to specific client presentations. This subject will provide students with the opportunity to analyse the assessment of postural control in people with vestibular pathology and/or traumatic brain injury. Specialist areas of neurological physiotherapy practice will also be explored. Students will be expected to apply ethical decision making and clinical reasoning to identify creative solutions for adults presenting with neurological disorders.
