As land use pressures on environmental systems intensify, so do the impacts on soil resources. The primary purpose of this subject is to equip students to develop effective and innovative land use and soil management strategies for optimising the use of the soil resource for specific productivity outcomes as well as conserving soil as a living ecosystem. Particular emphasis will be placed on soil assessment and sustainable soil management strategies and methods.
