In this subject students develop the knowledge and skills required for safe involvement in outdoor recreation activities. Theory and fieldwork components will help students to develop safe practice and an understanding of ones own capabilities and limitations in outdoor recreation settings. Students will be taught the importance of sound preparation for outdoor recreation activities, and will become proficient in wilderness first aid and emergency care. Specialised training in various outdoor recreation activities will be an intrinsic part of the subject.
