In this subject students research, analyse, plan and produce experimental theatrical and performative productions, public-events or projections as applied theatre responding to a range of social and cultural issues. Students are exposed to a broad survey of historic and contemporary experimental theatre-making including performance art/artists, theatre and drama in non-traditional settings, and socially engaged performance practices including the role of experimental theatre in public health, education, housing, social welfare, and juvenile and criminal justice.
