Quality of products and services is important in healthcare thus it is important to have skills to analyse, evaluate and propose improvement. This subject therefore provides a platform to discuss, analyze and evaluate drivers of quality such as quality assurance standards and accreditation. Leadership and management and technology are important in quality and safety, therefore the assignments in this subject call for analysis, evaluation and reflection on these drivers. After completing this subject, a student has a deeper and wider knowledge of management of quality that is useful e.g. in specialist and routine pathology and in research. It is assumed that a student in this subject works or has worked in medical laboratory sciences or studied medical laboratory science or equivalent and has undergraduate knowledge or equivalent of quality and statistics for quality. Students from other disciplines are enrolled at the discretion of the Director.
