This subject will facilitate development of respectful and effective communication skills for practice. Students will learn communication skills required to work effectively in a range of health, community, social, and educational practice settings including interviewing skills, professional writing, interacting with a range of people from diverse backgrounds and situations, and people who may have communication difficulties. This subject will address communication skills relevant to working with people across the lifespan, people who use alternative strategies to communicate and Indigenous Australian peoples. Students will have the opportunity to identify strengths and areas for development in their communication skills, and will develop goals and strategies to continue developing their communication skills. This subject will assist students to further develop their academic, digital, information and research literacies.
