This subject is the first step in your major software engineering project. Work started in this subject is continued and completed in the linked subject ITC309 Software Development Project 2. This subject, and its linked subject, cover the practical application of a project management methodology in the development and delivery of a major project. In particular, the focus of these subjects will be the application of the Unified Process (UP) whereby iterative and incremental development and testing are essential elements of the project lifecycle and process framework. In this subject, students will be working in teams to produce a project proposal and define the system architecture and modelling. A major milestone of this subject is delivery of a prototype to demonstrate technology suitability and functionality before proceeding with the project in ITC309.
