This subject covers the concepts of physics and instrumentation in the field of computed tomography (CT). It briefly reviews the foundational physics principles of CT and considers the physics of advanced principles and techniques. The subject will extensively cover image quality parameters and other quality factors in CT. It will cover such areas as Dual-Energy CT (DECT), Cone-Beam CT (CBCT), 4D CT and image reconstruction; modern tube designs and other associated instrumentation, such as pressure injectors. Radiation dosimetery in CT, methods of measurement and relationship to image quality will be covered with emphasis on justification and optimisation.
