ACC599 Contemporary Business Issues CPA (8)

Abstract

Accountants as business advisors need to continually scan the horizon for threats and opportunities and be able to provide strategic management advice, all within a framework of professional values and ethics. This subject examines how contemporary issues can become understood within the business organisation and knowledge translated into strategic action designed to manage the risks and take advantage of the opportunities. It is essential for accountants to develop a framework for knowledge acquisition beyond technical skills, engage in critical and balanced analysis of contemporary issues and develop the ability to interpret and explain the financial implications of issues to management and stakeholder groups.
