EPT508 Professional Experience Research (8)

Abstract

In this subject, students will undertake the second of two professional experience placements, each of 30 days. This total number of days will be supplemented by observation days completed on campus through a program of classroom observation conducted digitally and associated with the subject Successful Teaching. Professional Experience placements will  be assessed according to the seven BOSTES standards. Where students are assessed as eligible to apply for the Masters level of the subject, they will be required to undertake an appropriate research project portfolio that will link research the student is undertaking in other education subjects. This project will constitute the component of assessment which meets the AQF Level 9 requirement.

Syllabus

The subject will cover the following topics:
  • mapping personal and professional attributes;
  • curriculum, pedagogy and assessment;
  • curriculum integration;
  • connecting research to practice; and
  • mapping research study to actual practice.
