Abstract
This subject examines the nature and operation of financial institutions and markets in Australia as well as the economics of the financial system in which they operate. A wide range of financial institutions, markets and securities are examined in detail, together with such concepts as financial intermediation, and interest rate and exchange rate determination. The emphasis is on how markets and the instruments used in them can be employed to manage financial risks which businesses, individuals and governments face. |
