ULM511 University Approaches to Leadership and Management (16)
Abstract
This subject examines leadership and leadership practice within the context of higher education. The subject explores various conceptualisations of management and leadership. Participants are encouraged to reframe their current understanding of managing at CSU. Participants will explore various representations and theories of leadership to articulate their own leadership values and philosophy. This work-focussed subject aims to build self-aware and reflective practitioners. Leadership is conceptualised not as something held by an individual but as a set of social practices that arises from relationships and conditions of work. In this subject particular attention is given to leading for, and through change, in the dynamic tertiary environment and in alignment with CSU’s strategic mission. |
