This subject builds upon the students knowledge and experience in the assessment, diagnosis and management of medical (non-cardiac and non-respiratory) emergencies. This unit covers anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology that is relevant to commonly encountered medical emergencies. Students develop an appropriate understanding of the critical care management of patients with acute medical conditions, as implemented by intensive care paramedics.
