This subject covers the cultural context of communication, exploring the role of text, symbols, and shared (or exclusive) meaning. Communication and creativity as forces in cultural cohesion and division will be considered, as a basis for research projects. Issues of identity, cultural hegemony, diversity and change will be investigated in order to deepen the students understanding of the cultural dimensions of a research project.
