This subject will provide students with knowledge and skills required for Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) Switching and Routing written industry examination. The subject will cover advanced level content in all facets of Switching and Routing including the OSI model, bridging, LAN switching, IP and IP Routing protocols, multicast, WAN technologies, troubleshooting, and performance management

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

- be able to demonstrate expert level knowledge in bridging and LAN switching;
- be able to demonstrate expert level knowledge in IP addressing, IP services, and TCP/IP protocol details;
- be able to demonstrate expert level knowledge in IP routing;
- be able to demonstrate expert level knowledge in the area of Quality of service (QoS);
- be able to demonstrate expert level knowledge in frame relay and point-to-point protocols;
- be able to demonstrate expert level knowledge using IP multicast;
- be able to demonstrate expert level knowledge in network security;
- be able to demonstrate expert level knowledge in enterprise wireless mobility;
- be able to demonstrate expert level knowledge in general networking theory.
