This subject extends the study of Geographic Information Science (GIS) by developing skills in the complex modelling of spatial data, and it is assumed that students have basic GIS knowledge and experience. The practical component forms an integral part in developing specialist skills in GIS modelling. On completion of this subject students have the ability to make sound judgments regarding the appropriate use of spatial modelling, analysis of continuous surfaces, network analysis and raster analysis.
