This subject exposes students to different Qur'anic exegeses. It also includes development of different forms of exegeses; it will help students to see how Muslims have benefitted from the Qur'an. It will also consider the different ways in which the Qur'an has been interpreted as a source of understanding and implementation of Islamic jurisprudence and theology. It will explore traditional and contemporary interpretations of the Qur'an in the Islamic world and the West. It presents example passages from each classical exegetical works to show how they complement each other.
