This subject focuses on current patterns of social inequality in contemporary society with particular reference to Australia. Topics covered include: socio-biology, the family, age, gender, race and ethnicity, regional inequalities, income and wealth distribution, social class, social mobility, unemployment and the underclass in the UK, USA, Asia and the Pacific region.
