Information security management has emerged as a significant issue for the management of information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure. The global need for corporate and personal network access anywhere, anytime, is the driving force behind increasing concerns for issues about information security. The IT professional's knowledge and skills mix in information security are critical for business continuity. Identifying risk and implementing effective policy and practice to secure information is recognised clearly as a management issue. This subject comprises a series of topics that investigate information security and the implications for the management of information, and communication technology infrastructure. The foundational concepts of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) as an industry best practice for IT Service Management are also included.
