Will AUKUS keep us safe - at what cost?
In 2021, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States announced the AUKUS partnership. A central element of this agreement is Australia's plan to acquire up to eight nuclear-powered submarines at an estimated cost of $368+ billion over 30 years — announced without prior public consultation or a parliamentary vote.

There are several hearings planned around Australia. This is to register for the Canberra public hearing on Wednesday 2nd September, 2026. There will be two days of hearings in Canberra, please ensure you are registering for your preferred day.
The hearing will hear from invited presenters who have made submissions to the Inquiry. Commissioners will ask questions and engage with the evidence presented. All are welcome to attend and observe.
The hearing will run from 10:00am to 6:00pm and will be held in the Chapel of the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture (ACCC).
