Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
be able to: - recognise the physical and psychological considerations involved in injury prevention and the role of protective athletic devices; - provide acute care for an injured conscious and unconscious athletic participant; - understand the mechanisms underlying the healing response and the pathophysiology of musculoskeletal injury; - determine strategies to prevent injury as well as rehabilitative goals for the injured participant; - utilise exercise as well as various therapeutic modalities in the rehabilitative process. |

- Emergency procedures and evaluation of athletic injuries.

- Psychological considerations for rehabilitation.
- The role of exercise in the rehabilitative process.
