Salaries and Conditions of Employment

Salaries and conditions of employment are in accordance with the CSU Enterprise Agreement 2013-2016.

Superannuation

The University pays employer superannuation between 9.5% and 17% depending on the nature of the appointment.

Professional Development

The University offers a range of professional development opportunities.  We offer formally recognised programs, such as Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and the Graduate Certificate in University Leadership and Management, but believe professional development is so much more than structured learning -  attending conferences, participating in the academic special studies program, undertaking secondments or higher duties, participating in projects and mentoring others provide our staff with a rich professional development experience.

Our education support program provides valuable assistance to staff studying part-time to obtain recognised VET or higher education qualifications.

Our staff are able to discuss their performance, career aspirations and professional development with their supervisor as part of annual performance and development discussions.

Balancing Work and Personal Life

The University offers a range of flexible work arrangements to assist staff in better balancing their work and personal commitments.

Attractive leave provisions, including 20 days annual leave per year with the opportunity to purchase additional leave, 15 days sick/carers leave per year, parental leave (including maternity and adoption leave) of up to 26 weeks on full pay or 52 weeks on half pay (subject to a qualifying period) and defence force leave of up to 10 days per year, help our staff to achieve a balanced lifestyle.

One of the great benefits of working at Charles Sturt University is reduced commute times compared with the city, allowing our staff more time to do other things.
