Joint Cooperation Program Excellence Scholarship

  • This scholarship is to encourage Joint Cooperation Program graduates to progress to postgraduate studies at one of Charles Sturt’s campuses in Australia. It is valued at 50% tuition fee reduction throughout the entire duration of the course. This scholarship is offered in 2026 and awarded through a competitive selection process for outstanding students.

    Available to:

    Awarded to graduates of the Joint Cooperation Program with a Bachelor of Business Studies from Charles Sturt University; a Bachelor of Science Management from Keuka College or a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Services from Edinburgh Napier University

    Eligible partners:

    Applicant must be a Joint Cooperation Program graduate from:

    • Jilin University of Finance and Economics
    • Tianjin University of Commerce
    • Yangzhou University
    • Yunnan University of Finance and Economics

    Selection criteria

      • You must have achieved an academic entry score of 80 per cent or higher in your previous studies.
      • You need to submit an essay that demonstrates your motivation and your interest in contributing to the Charles Sturt community.
      • You must hold an unconditional offer* for a Charles Sturt University master’s course.

      *An unconditional offer means you have met all entry requirements and have no outstanding conditions to fulfil.

      What should I include in my essays?

      Here are the questions you'll be asked in the application form:

      Personal statement Tell us what led you to choose the degree you are currently studying and why you think you should be awarded this scholarship? (150-250 words)

      Community involvement Please outline your community involvement and leadership positions. Explain how these experiences have shaped your values and influenced your decision to study at Charles Sturt University. (150-250 words) Supply evidence (you'll be able to upload documents).

      Additional information How do you think you will exemplify the Charles Sturt values? How would you like to get involved in promoting Charles Sturt University in China. ie. you can serve as one of our ambassadors in China. (400-500 words)

      Will I be notified that my application has been received?

      Yes. You will be notified by email when your application has been successfully submitted.

      Can I be awarded more than one scholarship?

      Students awarded this scholarship will not be eligible for other Charles Sturt-funded tuition fee scholarships. For any queries, check with our friendly team at internationalclient@csu.edu.au.

      How are applications assessed?

      Applicants will be considered as part of their course admissions process. There is no additional application process.

      Conditions of scholarship

      The scholarship is conditional on you maintaining satisfactory academic progress in your course (a pass average). If you transfer from your nominated campus location at any time, the scholarship will cease.

      Recipients are expected to take an active role in the International Student Ambassador Program. This includes providing information or testimonials and being featured in Charles Sturt promotional materials. You may also be asked to take part in activities and tasks that help promote Charles Sturt University to the wider community.

      When will my scholarship be paid?

      This scholarship is subject to the student maintaining satisfactory academic progress and continued enrolment in their course. If these conditions are not met, scholarships may be suspended or terminated.

      As long as the criteria is met, the scholarship amount will be deducted from tuition fees at the commencement of each session.

      Can I defer my scholarship offer?

      The scholarship cannot be deferred.

      Can my scholarship be suspended or terminated?

      Yes, if you fail to meet the criteria for your scholarship.

      Termination of a scholarship will occur if the recipient is excluded from their course, if the recipient withdraws or cancels their enrolment, if the recipient fails to maintain satisfactory grades over a prolonged period or has issues of serious misconduct Scholarships will also be terminated if the recipient transfers to another university or place of study.

      Termination of the scholarship can occur if awardee doesn’t support the marketing activities described in the responsibilities section.

      Can I apply for an Approved Leave of Absence (ALA)?

      An Approved Leave of Absence will not cause the scholarship’s termination. Please check with your international student support officer for more information.

      Who cannot apply?

      • International students commencing an online mode course
      • International students commencing a course at Charles Sturt University’s international partners overseas
      • International exchange students
      • International study abroad students
      • International students with an Australia Awards or Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship
      • Continuing students – only new students will be made a scholarship offer at the time of admission

      When will I be notified of my application's outcome?

      Your scholarship application outcome will be advised with your offer letter.

      What will happen after I am granted the scholarship?

      You will need to accept your offer of study at the university. You may still be required to meet Genuine Student criteria, including financial capacity, and will need to make the appropriate fee deposit to the university to receive a e-COE.

      How many scholarships are on offer?

      The university will award as many scholarships as possible, with an intent to reward every eligible student.

      Will I be considered as a commencing student if I am transferring from another Charles Sturt course or I am applying with advanced standing?

      Yes, you will be a commencing student and will still require to meet the other listed criteria. Please contact us at internationalclient@csu.edu.au for confirmation.

      What are my responsibilities if awarded a scholarship?

      You may be required to participate in a number of activities/tasks to promote Charles Sturt University to the wider community:

      Provide photographs of your experience to international marketing team for use in promotional and marketing items.

      Submit an article about your experience to internal and external media groups.

      Speak to internal and external media for interview purposes.

      Post photos and/or updates through various Charles Sturt International social media pages.

      You will also be required to sign a media release allowing your photos and images of you to be used for promotional and marketing purposes.
