The CSU Learning Analytics Code of Practice is the document against which all Learning Analytics activities of the University are evaluated. The Code is administered by Adaptive Learning and Teaching Services in the Division of Learning and Teaching.

All matters will be investigated against the Learning Analytics Code of Practice.
Where a breach of the Learning Analytics Code of Practice is identified, the matter will be referred to the CSU Ombudsman for action and/or further investigation. The Ombudsman holds overall authority for the handling of complaints within the University and is also responsible for the University's Privacy Management Plan.
In an instance where a person is not satisfied with the response to their inquiry/complaint from the Manager, Adaptive Learning and Teaching Services, they may submit the matter to the CSU Ombudsman directly.
Inquiries or complaints about the use of Learning Analytics within research projects may also be directed to the Manager, Adaptive Learning and Teaching Services in the first instance. The Manager, Adaptive Learning and Teaching Services may only provide general advice and/or preliminary assessment on how the use of Learning Analytics in a research project relates to the Learning Analytics Code of Practice. It should be noted that the CSU Human Research Ethics Committee is the governing body for the ethical use of personal information in the conduct of research. Matters warranting action or further investigation will be referred to this Committee by the Manager, Adaptive Learning and Teaching Services.
Complaints/inquiries about analytics in research use may also be submitted directly to the Human Research Ethics Committee.
Researchers using or investigating Learning Analytics are encouraged to join the CSU Learning Analytics Research Network.
