The Communication and Government Relations team at Charles Sturt University is dedicated to building strong connections and fostering engagement with our communities, stakeholders and government partners.

We work to ensure the University’s voice is clear, consistent and aligned with our strategic vision.

Our Government Relations team provides strategic advice to the Vice-Chancellor, University Council, senior-executive and the wider Charles Sturt University community on all matters relating to our engagement and positioning with government and policy. Taking a collaborative approach, we seek to work with government to deliver the best possible outcomes for the University as a whole.

Our Communication teams bring stories and messages to life. We keep staff connected through clear, timely updates on major initiatives, projects and events, while supporting teams with advice on the best ways to share their news. For students, we craft multi-channel communication strategies that drive engagement, support and success, and through our External Relations team, we work with news and media to showcase the incredible work of our people and communities—informing, inspiring and celebrating who we are.

Student Communications

The Student Communications team is responsible for sending bulk, non-academic communications to students.

We work closely with stakeholders from Offices and Divisions to develop multi-channel communications strategies focused on student engagement, support, retention and success.

Internal Communications

We manage the key communications to staff across the University about organisation-wide initiatives, projects and major events.

We develop and execute communication plans for University-wide initiatives and provide support for smaller projects and events, including providing advice on the best channels to communicate a message.
