We aim to help individuals and businesses prosper in our regions through the development of new knowledge and skills, and by fostering innovation.

External Engagement cultivates strong, relevant, and collaborative partnerships designed to promote higher education opportunities, research excellence, and meaningful connections between Charles Sturt University and the broader community.

Community Engagement is responsible for:

  • Representing Charles Sturt University's interests in each campus region and beyond;
  • Engaging speakers from a range of disciplines to share fresh ideas, insights, and perspectives on today’s key social, scientific, and cultural issues through our events and programs;
  • Identifying opportunities to bring conferences and events to CSU campuses, creating new knowledge and opportunities for our communities;
  • Facilitating community access to CSU spaces and facilities for events, meetings, and other activities;
  • Supporting regional consultative committees to ensure community voices are heard in university planning and initiatives;
  • Promoting access to CSU services, such as the Community Dental and Oral Health Clinics and the Community Engagement and Wellness Centre;
  • Collaborating with communities to support regional development and deliver mutually beneficial outcomes; and
  • Increasing awareness of the social, economic, and environmental impact of CSU on our communities.
