The Bachelor of Outdoor Education prepares graduates for teaching careers in secondary schools as teachers of outdoor education and geography, or for careers in outdoor/environmental education, adventure tourism and ecotourism. The course comprises of professional studies in education and discipline studies in geography, outdoor recreation, ecotourism, outdoor education, environmental education, environmental science, communication and leadership integrated with a comprehensive professional experience program. The degree prepares graduates who are well versed in the theory and practice of outdoor education, who are confident leaders, with the essential skills and knowledge to work as effective teachers, activity specialists, adventure guides or expedition leaders.

English Language Proficiency Entry Requirements for Teacher Education Preparation Programs
English Language Proficiency entry requirements for non-Anglophone International students are: an overall IELTS (or equivalent) score of 7.5 (with no score below 7 in reading and writing, and a score of no less than 8 in speaking and listening).

CSU Credit PolicyStudents who have completed the TAFE Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation are awarded transfer credit represented as REC01C Outdoor Recreation Credit (16 points) upon application.
Graduation requirements
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 264 points.
Course Structure
The Course Structure comprises: thirty three (33) subjects, equivalent to 264 subject points including a zero (0) point Community Professional Experience subject and a sixteen point (16) point credit package represented as REC01C Outdoor Recreation Credit for completion of a Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation.
