For general practitioners

This study focuses on improving access to HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for young gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM), aged 18–25.

Key aims

  • Identify barriers and enablers to PrEP uptake.
  • Understand how young GBMSM prefer to access sexual health care and PrEP services.
  • Assess GPs’ knowledge and confidence in prescribing PrEP.

Why it matters for GPs

General practitioners play a critical role in sexual health care access. Your insights and experiences are vital to shaping more inclusive, accessible PrEP pathways—especially in regional and rural settings.

You can help us develop a geo-social app to connect young GBMSM with trained peer navigators for lived-experience support.

Fully funded PhD

We're also offering a fully funded PhD that includes a $52,050 living allowance for those interested in contributing to LGBTQIA+ health research.
