Modelling

Modelling software

Software installed on SPAN's Research Computer System enables different analysis and modelling capabilities for a variety of research disciplines:

MATLAB is a high-performance language for technical computing. It integrates computation, visualisation, and programming in an easy-to-use environment where problems and solutions are expressed in familiar mathematical notation. Typical uses include:

  • Maths and computation
  • Algorithm development
  • Data acquisition
  • Modelling, simulation, and prototyping
  • Data analysis, exploration, and visualisation
  • Scientific and engineering graphics
  • Application development, including graphical user interface building

Maple helps you analyse, explore, visualize, and solve mathematical problems quickly, easily and accurately. Typical uses include:

  • Advanced Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Visualisation
  • Scientific Data Management
  • String Processing and Linguistic Research
  • Parallel and Grid Computing

Access to SPAN's Research Computer System is available to Charles Sturt University academics and research students.
