Greater Connectivity for Bathurst campus

Greater connectivity with Bathurst campus master plan.

Charles Sturt has developed a long-term vision to guide the evolution of its Bathurst campus over the next 20 years, placing climate resilience, active transport and community connection at its core. Working alongside specialised consultants Hassell, and informed by extensive engagement with students, staff and community members, the Bathurst campus master plan responds to the need for a more walkable, integrated and environmentally responsive regional campus.

The plan enhances opportunities for active transport by organising the campus around a ’five-minute campus‘ structure and strengthening primary pedestrian connector routes. It reinforces climate resilience by mapping existing ecological systems and restoring biodiversity through connected vegetation and creek line corridors, particularly along Hawthornden Creek.

As a completed strategic framework, the plan aligns with regional planning priorities and supports a more sustainable, connected and culturally responsive campus environments, contributing to resilient regional communities.
