Academic skills help
At Charles Sturt University, you get access to free study support services as part of your enrolment.
You can develop your academic skills in many ways. We offer self-paced learning, interactive workshops, one-on-one training and online courses. We can also give you feedback on your draft assignments.
We cover the fundamentals of studying. This includes critical thinking, research and reading skills, note-taking, academic writing, referencing, and proofreading.
Academic writing, assignments, and essays
We can give you the information and support you’ll need to get your head around assignment writing and essays so it becomes second nature to you.
For most of your assignments, you'll need to do some research. The Library has various online tools to help you do this.
You can get advice to improve your maths and statistics skills. This includes how to understand mathematical language, apply mathematics and statistics processes, and create and interpret tables and graphs.
Getting organised with your referencing and understanding how to do it has its benefits. You'll save time, avoid plagiarism, and not lose any marks in assignments once you know how to do it right.
Online learning skills
The Charles Sturt Outreach Team travels around Australia holding workshops and meeting with students who are studying online.
If you're a Higher Degree Research (HDR) student, you can access various programs to help you with your research writing.
