Getting to your campus city

You can get to all our campus cities by plane, car, train and bus. Taxis and rental cars are also available.

Carriers vary between cities, so check the tabs below for more details.

Airlines

Rex and Qantas operate regular flights to and from the major campus cities.

Train and bus services

Countrylink provides train or bus services to and from all campus cities.

Once you've arrived

  • Car Hire - If you'd like to hire a car, you can search the local services and find one that suits your needs.
  • Taxi Services - We have arrangements with some taxi services to offer free shuttle services to intensive school students. This is a SSAF funded initiative. See what's available at each campus below.
  • Shuttle buses (Bathurst) - You can use shuttle buses to travel between your campus and the airport, bus stop or train station. Some shuttle services offer free travel to intensive school students.

Intensive schools

If you're attending designated intensive schools, you can get free transport in both directions between your campus or motel and the airport, bus stop or train station.

This service is operated by Albury Taxis. Bookings are essential.

Important information:

  • If you're booking a transfer service outside the normal intensive school period, you'll need to pay your own fare.
  • It's a good idea to book the return trip when making the original booking.
  • If you're going from campus to the airport, your pickup time must be booked for at least one hour before your flight.
  • If there are changes to your flight, contact Albury Taxis and they'll adjust the pickup to suit your new flight time.

You must identify yourself as a Charles Sturt University student when making a booking to access the free fare.

When booking by phone or email, please provide:

  • the account name: Charles Sturt Transfer Service
  • your full name, student number, mobile phone number
  • pick up/drop off location
  • carrier name (Rex/Qantas/bus/train)
  • arrival/departure date and time.

If you don't provide this information, you'll need to pay for your own fare.

Booking deadline

Albury Taxi service prefers bookings to be made at least 24 hours before required pickup time. Book your transport in advance to avoid long wait times during peak periods.

Public buses to your campus

Bathurst Buslines

Intensive schools

If you're attending designated intensive schools, you can get free transport in both directions between your campus and Bathurst airport, a local bus stop, or Bathurst train station.

This service is operated by Bathurst Tours. Bookings are essential.

Important information:

  • If you're booking a transfer service outside the normal intensive school period, you'll need to pay your own fare.
  • It's a good idea to book the return trip when making the original booking.
  • If you're going from campus to the airport, your pickup time must be booked for at least one hour before your flight.
  • Bathurst Tours requires a minimum 72 hours’ notice for a booking.
  • Transfers are available for pickups and dropoffs after 7am and up to 7pm, 7 days a week, excluding public holidays.
  • The designated set down and pick up on point on campus is the bus stop outside the Phillips Building, 1410.
  • Travel to locations outside the designated set down and pick up points is available at your own expense and must be communicated with the tour company.
  • The Tour company can provide transfers to or from Sydney as a private arrangement, but this will be at the students expense.

You must identify yourself as a Charles Sturt University student when making a booking to access the free local fare and you must have a Charles Sturt Student ID Card as proof.

When booking, please provide your:

  • full name
  • mobile phone number
  • student ID number
  • arrival/departure time, date and location
  • carrier (Pelican airlines, coach, train).

Every booking will be acknowledged with a confirmation reply from the operators.

Booking deadline

Bookings must be made ahead of time with a minimum of 72 hours notice. This service is available between 7am - 7pm, seven days a week. Excluding Public Holidays.

This service is operated by Dubbo Taxis. Bookings are essential.

Important information:

  • This service doesn't include transport from your hotel to campus each day or to attend a workplace learning placement in town.
  • If you're booking a transfer service outside the normal intensive school period, you'll need to pay your own fare.
  • It's a good idea to book the return trip when making the original booking.
  • If you're going from campus to the airport, your pickup time must be booked for at least one hour before your flight.
  • If there are changes to your flight, contact Dubbo Taxis to change the pick-up time.

  • It's a good idea to book the return trip when making the original booking.
  • If you're going from campus to the airport, your pickup time must be booked for at least one hour before your flight.
  • Wagga Taxi’s requires at least 48 hours’ notice for a booking.
  • The designated set down and pick up on point on campus is out the front of Charlie’s Store.
  • Travel to locations outside the designated set down and pick up points is available at your own expense.
