The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) within the 2015 Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF), set out the requirements that a higher education provider must meet (and continue to meet) in order to be registered. Of particular note are scholarship activities 'concerned with gaining new or improved understanding, appreciation and insights into a field of knowledge, and engaging with and keeping up to date with advances in the field. This includes advances in ways of teaching and learning in the field and advances in professional practice, as well as advances in disciplinary knowledge through original research'. (TEQSA Guidance Note on Scholarship, December 2018).
Charles Sturt has adopted the Scholarship Activity Framework and the underpinning Scholarly Environment Model to provide a holistic approach to addressing the TEQSA requirements and to align these with the normal operations of Charles Sturt as evidence of quality and integrity in Scholarship and from which we can continue to build excellence in scholarly activities in learning and teaching.
