Council of Australasian University Leaders in Learning and Teaching (CAULLT)

CAULLT supports research, policy, and practice related to the leadership, management, and development of higher education learning and teaching. Its membership is open to Australasian universities and provides:

  • online and in-person sharing of relevant learning and teaching issues related to academic development.

Australasian Council on Open, Distance and e-Learning (ACODE)

ACODE supports enhancing policy and practice of technology-enhanced learning and teaching. Its membership is open to Australasian universities and provides:

  • disseminating knowledge and expertise
  • supporting professional development

  • investigating, developing, and evaluating new approaches
  • advising and influencing key bodies in higher education
  • promoting best practice.

Advance HE

Advance HE is a member-led, sector-owned charity that works with institutions and higher education across the world to improve higher education for staff, students and society. Its strategic goals to enhance confidence and trust in HE, address systemic inequalities and advance education to meet the evolving needs of students and society, supports the work of  members and the HE sector. Its purpose is to help Higher education to be inclusive, sustainable and high-performing.

Advance HE provides fellowships in higher education across 4 levels of activity. It is also the institution that supports Athena SWAN.  Charles Sturt University achieved a Bronze award in 2019.

Our membership provides access to CONNECT - an online international community that all CS staff can join, as well as access to resources, professional learning and projects focussed on higher education.

Australasian Society for Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education (ASCILITE)

The Australasian Society for Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education (ASCILITE) is a professional association for anyone engaged in the educational use of technologies in tertiary education. It is a connected community of professionals and academics working in fields associated with enhancing learning and teaching through the pedagogical use of technologies. There are many ways to get involved as can be seen on the website: https://ascilite.org/get-involved/

There are seven Special Interest Groups (SIGs) including Open Educational Practice, Transforming Assessment, Learning Analytics, Learning Design, Mobile Learning, TELedvisors and Business Education. These SIGS host various events throughout the year. Another activity is the Community Mentoring Program, the Research School, annual conference as well as many others. CSU has an unlimited membership so feel free to sign up to receive a fortnightly Bulletin and attend member events.

Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN)

ACEN is the peak national professional body for Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and Workplace Learning (WPL) practitioners across the tertiary education, industry, community, and government sectors. ACEN provides strategic leadership for WIL and WPL research, scholarship, and practice in Australia, for its members and stakeholders.
