Use strategies to improve your English language skills for university

Learn how to improve your English language for academic purposes prior to undertaking university preparation studies. The subject focuses on teaching strategies to improve your English language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The subject will also help build your English language skills in preparation for attempting the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

In this short preparatory subject, we’ll cover these language learning strategies:

  • Module 1: Listening at university
    • Strategies to help your listening comprehension before, during and after a listening task
    • Improve your English vocabulary to aid your listening, reading and English communication skills.
  • Module 2: Speaking at university
    • Strategies to improve your speaking for discussions and presentations at university
  • Module 3: Reading at university
    • Strategies to help your reading comprehension before, during and after a reading task
  • Module 4: Writing at university
    • Strategies to help improve your Academic English for written tasks at university
