Britta graduated in 1994 from the University of Veterinary Science in Giessen, Germany. She worked in equine and mixed practice in Germany and the UK. In 2000, Britta gained recognition as a veterinarian in Australia and commenced work with Scone Equine Hospital in 2001 working as an equine anaesthetist in the surgery department.

She gained Membership of the Australian Collage of Veterinary Scientists in “Anaesthesia and Critical Care” in 2006. Britta worked multiple stud seasons at SEH as a head anaesthetist. She also provided training in equine anaesthesia for young veterinarians within the “Internship Education Program “. 2019 till 2023 she worked back in Germany in ambulatory equine practice and equine anaesthesia including teaching at Justus Liebig University of Veterinary Science in Giessen. Britta then returned to Australia as an equine head anaesthetist at Avenel Equine Hospital for many years. She joined the anaesthesia team at CSU in 2026 in her role as Lecturer of Veterinary Anaesthesia
