Biography

Mark has over two decades of experience in application delivery, cybersecurity, and infrastructure management. He holds qualifications from the University of Canberra and Charles Sturt University, combining a background in psychology with deep technical expertise. His career includes leadership of major government programs and enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives, giving him a strong understanding of both strategic and operational challenges in technology delivery.

Prior to joining AICFI in March 2025, Mark spent ten years at Charles Sturt University, where he held several senior roles, including Director of Application Services, Director of IT Infrastructure and Security, and extended periods as acting Chief Information Officer.

Mark’s cross-disciplinary expertise—spanning software development, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture—underpins his research interest in the intersection of technology, security, and human factors. His PhD, conducted in collaboration with CSIRO and Telstra, focuses on improving cybersecurity in telecommunications through human-machine teaming. The project explores how human expertise and AI systems can be integrated to more effectively detect and respond to security threats, aiming to develop practical frameworks that enhance decision-making in critical infrastructure environments.
