Mandatory training modules

As part of your studies or practical activities at Charles Sturt University, you may need to complete one or more mandatory training modules—especially if you’re:

  • Working in labs
  • Handling hazardous substances or dangerous goods
  • Using chemicals or specialised equipment

A staff member (such as your Head of School, Honours Advisor, Subject Coordinator, or Technical Officer) will let you know which specific modules are required for your course or facility induction.

There are two sets of Mandatory Training Modules

  • Introduction to Research Data Management
  • Defence Trade Control Act
  • Research Integrity
  • Human Research and Ethics
  • Animal Care and Ethics: Fundamentals

1. Go to the Brightspace Work Safety and Health Student Online Training site.

2. Log in with your Charles Sturt University username and password (if needed).

3. Select Enrol in the course. (There are a variety of available modules on this site. You only need to complete the modules you are instructed to do),

4. Select the course and complete the module/s.

To complete these programs, you must score at least 80% in each required module. Please take a screenshot of your passing grades to provide to the requesting staff member as proof of completion.
