Catherine Lockley


Catherine lives in the Greater Blue Mountains and studied her Bachelor (Health Science –CSU [Dean’s Scholar]), Master (Science Communication-ANU [with Distinction]), and current Grad. Cert. in Higher Education (Learning & Teaching) as an online student. She has also taught students from 6-60yrs over two decades, both privately and at college level in Theatre, Film & Classical Music. With a broad range of cross-disciplinary enquiry and the lived experience of juggling diverse work, study, family and community outreach commitments, Catherine is ideally placed to both understand and support the diverse needs of the online cohort in Higher Education.

Diane Middleton


Diane began her education with the School of the Air while living in the North-West corner of NSW. Since then she has developed a strong background in education, obtaining her Bachelor of Education (Primary) on campus, and her Graduate Diploma in Vocational Education and Training, and Master of Education by distance. She has taught a range of online subjects at Charles Sturt and has trained adult learners in Vocational settings. Through these experiences, Diane has developed a passion for helping non-traditional students achieve their educational goals, and through these experiences, she has a sound understanding of the online student experience.

Emma Gersbach


Emma is a true Dubbo local and has experience working with both youth and adults within the educational field at both a VET and university level. Emma started her degree internally at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst then transferred to distance to undertake full-time work. Emma understands the difficulty of being a new student as well as juggling work, family and study commitments to strive for success.

Erika Cross


Erika grew up in Mildura and has a background in plant science. As a plant ecologist, she has lived and worked across regional Victoria and NSW, from the mountains to the desert. After working as a sessional lecturer at Charles Sturt, Erika developed a passion for helping students achieve their full potential at university and completed a Master of Education online. Erika’s background and experience studying online has provided her with an understanding of the challenges faced by online students and is here to help you navigate your university journey.
