Larry Towney

Larry Towney is a proud Wiradjuri man with extensive experience in senior government roles and a distinguished record of leadership and community service. He has contributed to the advancement of Aboriginal communities through strategic guidance, policy development, and advocacy at state and national levels.

His expertise spans governance, cultural engagement, and program delivery, reflecting a lifelong commitment to improving outcomes for First Nations peoples. Recognised for his dedication, Larry has received a UTS Human Rights Award and a Law and Justice Foundation of NSW Special Commendation Aboriginal Justice Award, highlighting his significant contributions to social justice and community empowerment.

In his advisory role with River Dreaming Aboriginal Corporation – a not‑for‑profit conservation charity dedicated to caring for inland rivers – he brings cultural knowledge, integrity, and strategic vision that continue to strengthen partnerships and promote lasting change for Aboriginal communities.
